Boundary Lake Water Station set to reopen week of June 30

The Boundary Lake Water Station located at 1105 Cecil Lake Road in Electoral Area B is set to reopen the week of June 30.

The station has been closed since August 12, 2024, following an equipment failure that affected water quality. Since then, the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has been working towards replacing the treatment system and getting the new equipment ready to ensure safe water delivery to residents.

The new treatment system is delivered, and our crews have removed the contaminated equipment. Over the coming days, and before reopening the station, the PRRD will complete the following:

  • Installation
  • Testing equipment
  • Water sampling

Estimated reopening timeline

  • June 18: removal of contaminated equipment
  • June 19 – 23: installation of new treatment equipment
  • June 24 – 26: testing of new equipment
  • June 27: water sampling for public safety and compliance
  • Week of June 30: water safety approval from Northern Health and reopening of the station

Accessing water during reopening process

Residents currently accessing water from the Feye Spring Water Station located at 1863 Imperial Avenue in Clayhurst, BC, can continue to use this location until the Boundary Lake Water Station reopens.

We thank residents for your patience during this extended closure and look forward to restoring full service to the community.
