Cameron River Evacuation Alert #2
May 13, 2023 1500 hrs (3:00 p.m.)
The Peace River Regional District has issued an expanded the Evacuation Alert area for the Cameron River wildfire.
Properties that were under an Evacuation Order are now included in Evacuation Alert #2, and the communities that were under Evacuation Alert #1 remain under Alert #2.
The communities that are now all included in Evacuation Alert #2 include:
- on the Upper Halfway Road from Cameron River to Lexau Ranch
- the area south of the Halfway River, between Kobes Creek and Ground Birch Creek
This notification does not apply to the Halfway River First Nation.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
- Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
- Sign up for North East BC Emergency notifications at NEBCAlerts.com to receive alerts about Evacuation Orders and Alerts.
- Pack essential items for a quick departure, such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, passports, birth certificates, banking and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents, cell phone and charger and, if time and space permits, personal keepsakes.
- Prepare to move disabled persons, children and/or neighbours, if they need assistance.
- Prepare to take pets with you including pet care items (leash, carrier, food) and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
- Arrange transportation for all your household, and fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
- Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
- If you will need assistance to evacuate from the area, such as for transportation, mobility, health, or other needs, please call 1-800-670-7773.
- Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued BEFORE evacuating.
- Monitor prrd.bc.ca and for information on evacuation orders and location of Reception Centres and hours of operation.

Cameron River Evacuation Order #1 Cancelled
May 17, 2023
The Peace River Regional District has rescinded the Cameron River Evacuation Order #1 as of 1500 hrs (3:00 p.m.) on May 17, 2023. This means the Evacuation Order is cancelled pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the BC Emergency Program Act for the Cameron River/Halfway River area on the Upper Halfway Road from Cameron River to Lexau Ranch.
This notification does not apply to the Halfway River First Nation.
Residents on these properties can return home; however, it is important to note that these properties are now under Cameron River Evacuation Alert #2.

Red Creek/Stoddart Creek Evacuation Order #3
May 17, 2023 [1100] hrs (11:00 a.m.)
Based on recommendations from BC Wildfire, the Peace River Regional District has reduced the Evacuation Order area for the Red Creek and Stoddart Creek wildfires. As part of this change, the following communities are no longer under an Evacuation Order and are now under an Evacuation Alert:
- North Pine
- Pineview,
- Northern sections of Charlie Lake (north of Highway 29 and 246 Road)
The following communities remain under Red Creek/Stoddart Creek Evacuation Order #3:
- Rose Prairie
- Montney, Buick
- Coffee Creek
- Prespatou
- Altona
- Peejay
- Osborn
- Nig Creek
- Murdale
BC Wildfire Service has recommended the change to boundaries of the Red Creek/Stoddart Evacuation Order as a result of changes in fire activity.
YOU MUST LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY WHEN THERE IS AN EVACUATION ORDER
Evacuation Orders are issued on the recommendation of BC Wildfire when there is an immediate threat to life safety. Anyone under the age of 19 is required to evacuate by law.
If you need assistance to evacuate from the area, such as for transportation, mobility, health, or other needs, please advise the person providing this notice or call 1-800-670-7773.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHEN YOU EVACUATE:
- If you have already evacuated, please remain where you are.
- If you have not yet evacuated please travel by safest route to Fort St. John and register for Emergency Support Services (ESS) at the reception centre at North Peace Arena – 9805 96 Ave Fort St. John, BC. If after hours please call 250-794-3310. If local accommodations are unavailable, you will be redirected to the nearest community.
- Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.
- If you have time and it is safe to do so, please shut off your gas supply at the meter. To do this, take a wrench, and turn the valve 90 degrees to the off position.
- Close and lock all windows and doors.
- Close gates (latch) but do not lock them.
- Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation. Do not use more vehicles than needed.
- Take critical items (identification, credit cards, medicine, cell, phone and charger, and keys) only if they are immediately available.
- Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.

Red Creek/Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert #4

A number of changes have been made to the Evacuation Alert Area for the Red Creek/Stoddart Creek wildfires based on recommendations from BC Wildfire.
Red Creek/Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert #4 now includes the new properties that were previously under an Evacuation Order; however, there are also some properties that are no longer under an Evacuation Alert.
The areas that were previously under an Evacuation Order and are now under Evacuation Alert #4 are in the northern sections of Charlie Lake (north of Highway 29 and south of mile 62 1/2, which includes the following communities:
- North Pine
- Pineview
- Northern sections of Charlie Lake (North of Highway 29 and 246 Road, south of Mile 62)
The Red Creek/Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert has been cancelled for the southern sections of Charlie Lake, including the following communities:
- Cecil Lake
- Goodlow
- Baldonnel
- Two Rivers
- Bear Flats
The properties under Evacuation Alert #4 includes the areas north of Highway 29, 246 Road and Cecil Lake Road, west of Beatton River, Northwest of Doig River and Siphon Creek Road, extending east towards the Alberta border.

Donnie Creek/Tommy Lakes Evacuation Alert #2

The Peace River Regional District has amended the Evacuation Alert for the Donnie Creek and Tommy Lakes areas. BC Wildfire Service has recommended an evacuation alert as a result of the Donnie Creek Wildfire. This area is primarily used by forestry, and gas and oil industry operations.
Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Donnie Creek/Tommy Lakes Evacuation Alert is in effect for the following areas:
- At the northern boundary of the PRRD – 5 km east of Highway 97,
- At Sikanni Chief – 13 km east of Highway 97,
- Between km 50 and km 77 on Tommy Lakes Road,
- 20 kms east of Wendy Lake, and
- to the border with the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality in the North.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued by Peace River Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
BC Wildfire Service has recommended an expanded evacuation alert as a result of the Red Creek and Stoddart Creek wildfires. Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Peace River Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert.
The Evacuation Alert is in effect for the following areas:
- Charlie Lake, Baldonnel, Clayhurst, Two Rivers and Flatrock, Goodlow and Cecil Lake
The Evacuation Alert applies to all areas north of the Peace River from Bear Flats to the Clayhurst/Don Phillips Bridge, extending to the southern boundary of the Evacuation Order. A map is provided on the following page.

Red Creek Evacuation Alert #3
The Peace River Regional District has adjusted the boundary of the Red Creek Evacuation Alert area. There has been no expansion to the Alert area. The updated Alert addresses areas that previously overlapped with the Stoddart Creek wildfire Evacuation Alert and Order. With the adjusted boundaries, those areas have been removed from the Red Creek Evacuation Alert to eliminate any possible confusion among the public.
Red Creek Evacuation Alert #3 now applies to properties on the west side of Highway 97 from Highway 29 to the Beatton Airport Road.

Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert #2

The Peace River Regional District has expanded the Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert area. BC Wildfire Service has recommended this expanded Evacuation Alert because of the potential danger to life and health as a result of the Stoddart Creek Wildfire (G80291).
Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert #2 includes the following new areas:
- Pineview, Montney, North Pine, Rose Prairie, Murdale and northern sections of Charlie Lake.
The Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert #2 total area now extends from Highway 97 to the Beatton River, including
- areas north of Charlie Lake Provincial Park and the intersection Montney Road and Rose Prairie Road, and
- areas south of Buick Creek Road and Aitken Creek Road.

The Peace River Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert for the Stoddart Creek area. BC Wildfire Service has recommended an evacuation alert as a result of the Stoddart Creek Wildfire (G80291).
Because of the potential danger to life and health, the Stoddart Creek Evacuation Alert is in effect for the following areas:
- East of Highway 97N,
- North of North Pine Road,
- West of the Beatton River,
- South of Buick Creek Road,
- South of Mile 73 Road,
- South-East of Aitken Creek Road.
An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
